Today we...
Learned all about the chunk practices we will be doing for each chapter of All Quiet on the Western Front. Please click here for a link to our All Quiet Chunk Practice Page. Chunk practice is an on-going writing exercise, and requires good self-direction and dedication. Yes, it is a lot of writing, but we are moving beyond regular review of writing skills and are now honing our critical thinking and writing skills daily. Please stay on top of chunk practice: it's not much if attended to every day (yes, HOMEWORK), but if left until the last minute will be more than the amount of writing you would be asked to write in a single essay. Think of it this way: each chunk is half a paragraph (three sentences!). That is totally manageable on its own. FOR BREAK: Please read through Chapter 4. Begin work on your chunk practices. I would advise completing at least the first two chapters, but encourage you to try to complete all of the ones posted so far. ***We did not meet today because of the conference schedule. This week we will only be meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 2014.
Today we... Took our eleventh vocabulary quiz, and began work on our twelfth set of new words. Please find the new words and homework below. ***Note: Due to the conference schedule, we will only be meeting on Tuesday of next week.
