Wrote. Please see our writing prompt below. Submitted our daily writes to Turnitin.com. This was Week #13. Please note: no submissions are allowed after the cut-off time. Turnitin.com will literally not allow you to submit. If you want any credit submit what you have NOW. NOTE: ***TODAY*** IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT THE FIRST FOUR COMPONENTS OF THE JULIUS CAESAR ESSAY:
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THESE PARTS SUBMITTED SOMETIME TODAY YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO FOR THE ESSAY. Homework: Essay is due Monday by 11:59pm, online. Again, once that cutoff is reached, no late submissions will be accepted. You've had plenty of time to finalize the essay since Monday, so you are still expected to read Catcher this weekend. Please read Chapters 4, 5, 6, & 7. This should be roughly 30 pages or so. Today we...
Wrote. Please see our writing prompt below. Mrs. Hopkins checked us off on our Holden personality writing chunks. We compiled our Holden adjectives on the board, and came up with quite the list. We discussed Holden as an unreliable narrator: he will not just come out and tell us exactly what is going on. We will need to work extra hard to figure out the real story and "read between the line." Although he is honest with his opinions about the world around him, he is very protective of his motives and secretive about his circumstances. We began reading Chapter 3 aloud. Please finish reading this for homework, and come up with five new adjectives to describe Holden, now that we've seen him interact with his peers. NOTE: TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT THE FIRST FOUR COMPONENTS OF THE JULIUS CAESAR ESSAY:
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THESE PARTS SUBMITTED SOMETIME TOMORROW YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO FOR THE ESSAY. Today we...
Wrote. Please see our writing prompt below. Read the first two chapters of The Catcher in the Rye aloud in class. We will mostly be focusing on character development and analysis with this novel, and the first two chapters do much to establish our main character's personality. FOR HOMEWORK: Generate a list of ten adjectives to describe Holden's personality (please do not use baby words like "sad," "mad," or "mean"). Then, choose one of these words and write two chunks supporting this opinion. This will be due tomorrow at the beginning of class. I want to see all ten words, as well as the topic sentence for your chosen word. Today we... Wrote (remember: online!). Please see our writing prompts below. Had an introduction to The Catcher in the Rye. PLEASE GET YOUR COPIES FROM THE LIBRARY BEFORE CLASS TOMORROW. We watched the two Crash Course videos on our new Catcher page: CLICK HERE.
We took notes while watching the videos (which give a lot of information about the novel), and then wrote about our first impressions of the book, thoughts, questions, what stood out, etc. and turned this in to Mrs. Hopkins at the end of class. Today we...
Wrote. Please see our writing prompt below. HOWEVER! We are now doing all daily writing on Chromebooks, and will be submitting the cumulative total in one document every Friday to Turnitin.com. We turned in a handwritten, paragraph-by-paragraph analysis of our partner's work, according to the guidelines of the assignment. REMINDER: Please pick up a copy of Catcher in the Rye from the library! Today we...

Wrote. Please see our writing prompt below. Got back the unit quiz/test from yesterday. Never fear, citizens! Mrs. Hopkins has deleted it from the gradebook. Rather than grading it on the curve, I decided to just throw it out. Come see me if you have questions or concerns. We turned in our outlines online if we hadn't done so already, and then we had work time on the rough draft of the Caesar essay. |
