Writing prompt is below. Today we continued our class "voting" and discussion from our anticipation guide from yesterday. Mrs. Hopkins compiled the responses into the totally (not) so easy to read chart below. Look it over when you have a chance...and see if your peers responded in the same why in front of the class as they did on an "anonymous" survey. Tonight, you will write a reflection on our two-day discussion, and submit to Turnitin.com (will be due at the beginning of class). Please answer the following questions: 1) Based on y our responses to the anticipation guide, and the discussion with your classmates, are you looking forward to reading this novel? 2) How would you feel about being stranded on a desert island with this group of your peers? (That means: 1st period, you guys are stuck together, and 2nd period, you are also stuck with each other--on a totally separate island, of course!) 3) What do you think is going to happen in the book? What predictions can you make? (Hint: saying "kids stuck on a desert island" is not a prediction.) What will you look for to confirm your beliefs/predictions? What if your beliefs/predictions begin to change?
