(Disclaimer: Mrs. Hopkins' school computer had some technical difficulties after school, so this post is being done from home...meaning there won't be any downloadable documents...yet. Check back later, like Friday afternoon, for update.)
Today we... "Voted With Our Feet" about the prompts we wrote on yesterday. This means we all got up out of our desks and moved to one side of the room or the other depending on how we felt about the prompts. For example, in response to the prompt that asked if it the statement "The sins of the father will be visited up on the son," one side of the room was for students who agreed with that concept, while the other side of the room was for students who disagreed. Students who were unsure stood in the middle of the room. Once we voted, we shared our thoughts, and discussed our different points of view. We did this for each of the five prompts. We then delved right into a brief overview of Greek drama, in preparation for reading Antigone. Greek plays were actually considered to be religious ceremonies. Then we read the myth of Oedipus, which is the precursor to our play. Quite the ick-factor in that story! The packet that we used today will be uploaded tomorrow, Friday.
